We may not follow the text chapter by chapter, so stay tuned!
Attachments are listed. Please pay close attention to section assignments/activities listed for each week.
Please bring a journal to class. If you are unable to bring one, please let me know asap and I will provide a duotang if you need one.
Week 1
Journal Activities.
Introduction to Journal Writing and Reflections.
Possible Journal Entries-
1. Page 6. "Think about your personal reasons for studying Psychology. Write an entry in your journal of at least 100 words describing what you hope to gain from this experience." Use your creative side. If you have a link, resource that prompted your interest, newspaper, magazine, quote from a teacher etc, please feel free to add this to your journal.

Journal Entry: Starter
Complete 4 Questions
Hint: Cognitive/Cognition (means referring to the mind or thought patterns etc).
1. What physiological needs might this student be ignoring?
2. Why is the student ignoring his physiological needs?
3. What does the monster tell you about the student's cognitive or mental processes?
4. Are physiological or cognitive needs more difficult to determine from observing another human being? Why?

We watched the MOST famous experiment on Social Conformity. (Stanley Milgram)
You handed in your worksheets 1-1 a and b.
Homework: Journal Entry
1.Have you ever had a moment where you have experienced conformity?
2. Describe physiological and cognitive factors involved?
BONUS: Describe something you have seen with respect to conformity.

Work on Research Notes for Historical Approaches to Psychology. See below for attachment. Your powerpoint is due next Wednesday. Sept 28th. If you didnt receive the handout, please come and see me and I will give you a copy or you can download it.

Working on your Historical Perspectives project in the library. Present this Wednesday. Please email me your work. If you have a printer, please make 1 copy of your powerpoint for me to mark.
Ok... so many of you are stressed about the due date. I have decided to give you all an extension until Monday October 3rd. If you are ready to present this Wednesday, that would be great! If not... please do be ready on Monday.
